Ride for a Better Byres Road [22nd Oct]

The latest design proposals for Byres Road lack a firm commitment in putting people first. We want a Byres Road in which a young child can cycle safely, a place where you can hear yourself chatting to a friend whilst crossing the street with ease and a safe street in which parents don’t have to worry about their children.

Show support for a Better Byres Road by coming on our family friendly ride on Sunday 22nd October. We’re gathering at the Transport Museum for 10:45am to leave at 11:00am to ride the length of Byres Road. We’ll then gather at Vinicombe St for 11:15am after which we’ll go for lunch and spend the walking and cycling pound!

Anyone of any age and ability is welcome to join us. If you can’t make the ride, or just want to walk, then you’re most welcome to join us at Vinicombe St.

Together we can send a message that we want a Byres Road that has a pleasant walking environment, safe cycling provision, and low volumes of motor traffic.

Planned route:

The transport museum is located on NCN route 7 and is a short ride/walk from Partick station.

Date: Sunday 22/10/17
Start time and Location: 10:45am (leaving at 11:00am) at Transport Museum
End time: 11:15am at Vinicombe St, Byres Road
